TRAVEL

Getting Here

The closest airport is Santa Barbara Airport (SBA), just 15 minutes from downtown and super easy to navigate. Southwest offers direct flights from Baltimore (BWI), and major airlines like United and Alaska also service SBA through hubs like Denver, Phoenix, Vegas, and San Francisco.
We strongly recommend flying into SBA if you can — it’s the most convenient by far.
If you’re looking to explore more of Southern California, flying into LAX is doable, but be prepared for a longer journey. Santa Barbara is about two hours from LAX by car (much longer with traffic), and you’ll need to rent a car. There’s also the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner, which runs from LA to Santa Barbara and hugs the coastline for a scenic ride — though it’s occasionally... unpredictable. If you go this route, build in extra time and keep your travel plans flexible.

Where to Stay

Check back in August for Room Block Details

Ready to book now? Santa Barbara has plenty of great options:
  • Courtyard Santa Barbara Downtown -  Conveniently located near all weekend events — and did we mention the rooftop pool? This is our top choice for guests booking early.
  • The Kimpton Canary– Right off State Street and about 10 minute walk to the venue. Great for guests looking for an elevated stay.
  • Hotel Californian – Stunning, iconic and very luxurious. Located steps from the beach, but will require transportation to the venue.
  • Best Western Plus Santa Barbara – The most budget-friendly option close to the festivities
Traveling with a crew?
An Airbnb or VRBO can be a great option for groups. We recommend searching near Villa & Vine (our reception venue, located on upper State Street) for walkability to all wedding events. Staying farther out — like in the Funk Zone, Lower Riviera, or near East Beach — offers charm and space, but you'll likely need a car or rideshare to get to the ceremony and reception.
No matter where you stay, we recommend booking early — spring in Santa Barbara is beautiful, and rooms go quickly.

Getting Around Town

Santa Barbara is extremely walkable, especially around downtown and State Street. You’ll want comfy shoes for wandering — between the beach, wine tasting rooms, and local shops, there’s plenty to explore on foot.
Ubers and Lyfts are available, but they can be limited late at night or early in the morning. If you have a flight or early activity, we recommend scheduling a ride in advance to be safe.
